What makes our Sea salt special

LOCATION

Our salt begins with seawater sourced from Vancouver Island’s Pacific coastline, where some of the fastest-moving tidal currents in the world continuously renew the water we harvest from.

FILTRATION

Unlike open-air salt production, our seawater is filtered and kept within a controlled system from intake to final crystal, ensuring exceptional purity and consistency.

CRYSTALLISATION

Purpose-driven crystallisation allows us to create distinct crystal structures - pyramid flakes for finishing and fine crystals for cooking - so each salt dissolves and seasons exactly as intended.

CERTIFICATION

To independently verify purity, our sea salt is routinely tested by accredited third-party laboratories.

CONSERVATION

Instead of discharging by-products, we capture fresh water from evaporation and trace mineral-rich brines, integrating them into a working farm system that supports sustainable agriculture.

In 2009 we set out to put Canada on the world map for sea salt. Why? It occured to us that, despite having one of the longest and most pristine shorelines in the world, our amazing country did not produce sea salt. We changed that. Now you can enjoy a world-class sea salt made with true Canadian values - purity, honesty, and sustainability.

Being the first in Canada to commercially harvest sea salt meant writing our own playbook. Over a decade, we’ve developed unique, purpose-driven processes that extract the full potential of our pristine ocean resource while respecting the surrounding ecosystem. From careful seawater intake to controlled filtration, crystallisation, and thoughtful by-product reuse, every step is designed to maximize purity, preserve trace minerals, and craft salt that performs exactly as intended.
